Afternoon Snack

Today I really tried to take the advice given to me that I should drink a lot of water when I am hungry. Well, this afternoon I downed 2/3 of a 1.5L bottle of water, and I was still starving by 3:30pm. My lunch, which I ate at about 1:00pm, was pretty big, so I don't know what my deal is.

hey there - not sure if you can have benefiber, but my dr told me to take it and it DEF helps curb hunger....

You're still going through withdrawals!! Give it time, your extreme hunger will curb. Meanwhile, 3 hours is fine to eat again. Try to eat only until you are no longer hungry, as opposed to full. A serving of protein for a lady fits in the palm of her hand. Two palmfuls for complex carbs. If you aren't overeating, and are taking in a small meal every 3-4 hours, you should not gain weight. Your target intake of water should be 1-2 liters per day. Keep up the good work!

Benefiber has modified food starch, and citric acid, and some of the ingredients are partially hydrolyzed. Hydrolizing a molecule produces glutamates, which are what make up MSG. It isn't technically MSG because it hasn't been purified to form the MSG powder, but the glutamates are flavorful like MSG and have the same health consequences for those who are sensitive, though it is a smaller dose when in this form. Those with multiple food sensitivities may wish to avoid such things. Also remember hydrolyzed vegetable protein can come from wheat, soy, or corn in addition to containing MSG in its raw form. Best to take 100% natural psyllium husks instead if you are aiming to increase your fiber intake. Really just adding a small salad of dark greens (spinach, romaine, etc) will help to fill you up. If you do go the route of taking stool bulking agents, start small... it can give you gas if you take too much at once!
