GOODBYE, MORBID OBESITY!

(Hello, obesity!)

I have lost a few pounds this week.

Thank you, Wii Fit.

I am officially obese... Rather than morbidly obese.

This is a good, good day.

Oh, wow.

Trader Joe's pancake mix with real milk, applesauce (instead of eggs), canola oil, nutmeg, cinnamon, and a little bit of dry oatmeal to add texture. Topped with real maple syrup.

This was not healthy, but wow - what a treat! I didn't think I'd ever eat something like that again.

There is more mix in the fridge. I will make it for Mike and I for breakfast tomorrow.

And then... IKEA!!!

My Antonia

I have finished reading "My Antonia". It was lovely.

I have also discovered a coffee place close enough to visit on my lunch hour.

Today is a good day.

Next: Neil Gaiman's "Fragile Things", which I believe is a book of short stories.

I have a ton of books of my Amazon wish list, but no money.

In other news, my new-old crock pot almost burned our house down and will not be used again. Me? Exxagerate? Okay maybe a little, but a flame did shoot out the outlet when I pulled out the plug opposite it, and the safety switch clicked on.

Anybody even read this blog anymore?

Check-In

It's been awhile since I have "checked-in".

I have not totally fallen off the good habits wagon. I have not eaten a single thing I am allergic to, except some lunch meat that had maltodextrin in it. I learned my lesson about that... twice.

I think I have, however, plateaued. I am not too unhappy, because I think it just means that I have reached a balance. I have no gained. I just need to find some more changes to make in my life.

I am 267lbs. I have been 267lbs for the last two and a half months. No loss, at all. That's 66lbs down, though, which is nothing to sneeze at.

I love my new Wii Fit. I did it this morning for about 20 minutes before work, and I did a total of 45 minutes yesterday. I know that this alone is not a workout routine. Don't worry, I'm not that delusional. I do think, though, that it is going to help jump start some real working out. And, truthfully, some of the aerobic games on there really do make you pant a good bit if you do them one after another! I even had the Wii Fit tell me that it might not be a bad idea to stop and get a glass of water. That made me happy.

I just wanted to post this update, though, because I was telling a friend recently about how the Wii Fit board has a maximum weight capacity of 330lbs, and actually won't let you play if your weight exceeds that. This means that in July, when I started my journey, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy this.

So this is another thing that I can add to my list of things I can do now that I couldn't do before: enjoy the Wii Fit. This is even more exciting than the day I realized that I can pull (one of) my foot(s) up to my nose.

Okay, that's all for now.

Worchestire sauce.

For my fellow allergy-ridden folks... My meatloaf recipe called for worchestire sauce. Instead I used a little balsamic vinegar and brown sugar. Tasted great!

Valentine's day...

Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and peas. Mike thinks Mountain Dew is sexier than wine.

For the record, Mike got me the Wii Fit for Valentine's Day.

Easy Dinner!

Steak and mushrooms, sauteed in butter and seasoned with salt, garlic pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Served over leftover rice. Mike fried his rice with soy sauce. I am allergic to soy sauce, so I didn't partake.

Say hello to Hammy.

This is Hammy, the newest member of my family. Although he has only been with us a few days, I am already in love. :)

I love me some coffee.

Foofy vanilla-y girlie coffee, that is.

Hammy Cage

Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

This is Hammy's cage. I was very proud of it when I posted this blog, but now that I am editing the post, I'd like to say that we hate this cage and are buying a new one today.

Fluff.

This is a blog entry about nothing. I just thought that you deserved to know that I am still alive and kicking. I haven't made any delicious meals in the last few days. For lunch yesterday and today I had tomato soup, and for dinner last night I had leftover mashed potatoes and gravy, already pictured.

Does anyone have a good recipe or tips on making gravy? I made some out of chicken broth and tapioca flour, and some spices, and it was okay... but nothing to write home about.

In other news, I have been reading like a crazyperson. I would tell you about it, but I don't know that the internet really cares what I think about the books that I've read.

Feel free to contradict me.
